I finally got the chance to use my English outside the classroom. The guys from Croatia were really friendly and sociable, we were talking non-stop throughout the whole reunion and I really enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to meeting them again in November! 

The trip was just wonderful! It was really interesting to get to know Croatian culture. The Plitvice Lakes have left amazing and beautiful memories. The family I was staying with were very kind and caring, especially my host Petra. I’m going to take care of her as she did!

Trip to Croatia

Croatia is a small republic, member of the European Union with Zagreb-capital city. Before our trip, we didn’t use to know much about this country at all yet we were all positively set before the trip.

We spent the whole first day traveling, passed a thousand kilometers and stayed for the night in a hotel in Zagreb. The next day, we reached our destination – the town of Koprivnica. It’s a small town in north Croatia. What we noticed first about it is that there are no blocks of flats – only small and good looking houses. Therefore after reaching we met our hosts and were sent to the homes to unpack our baggage, get to know each other better and rest from the long road. The people were pretty nice and welcomed us as kind and friendly as a host can possibly do. The program started from Monday and ended in Friday.

First we went to their school, which looks a little weird from the outside-it has no windows on the front side and looks like it’s made of iron, but on the inside things are much different. It accused that it has windows in the sides. The school is large, has many rooms and staircases, huge corridors and an enormous sports hall with everything that’s needed for any sport. The canteen is big, looks like a restaurant and has a view to the sports hall, which is really interesting and different to us. The program also included a walk around Koprivnica, trips around the region, learning about their traditions and arts. There was an ecological and a sports competition and on Thursday we had a biking tour.

We used to spend our free time having parties with the other boys and girls, going out to cafes or discos.  Everybody was friendly kind and nice to us. We met many people from other countries and enjoyed every second of our trip to Croatia.

In Thursday evening we had to say goodbye to everybody and in Friday morning we left to Bulgaria.
